The superficial layer of the skin is gently abraded by a controlled stream of aluminum oxide microcrystals (corundum), which is the hardest mineral after diamonds. Corundum is neutral for human body and is not absorbed through the skin. The device is equipped with a sterile, crystal disposable cartridge and air filters which help to prevent the formation of bacteria. It consists of a hand grip which is easy to sterilize and has disposable tips. The treatment can be performed on all skin types and all parts of the body but it is required to exclude contraindications. Microdermabrasion allows better absorption of skin products which are chosen individually depending on patient’s needs. They can be applied directly after treatment. They activate, stimulate and regulate cell division, influence the synthesis of proteins and glycolipids, retain water in cells and, at the same time, have a calming effect on the superficial skin layers. The post-treatment skin care can be continued at home using special products, as per doctor’s recommendations. For skin rejuvenation and regeneration, microdermabrasion does not require any repetitions. However, it is required to repeat the treatment for therapeutic purposes. Sometimes, it is advised to combine mesotheraphy with other skin treatments to get best results.

No special treatments are needed to prepare the skin for microdermabrasion. However, 5 days before the procedure it is required to avoid: • Chemical creams for hair removal • Electrolysis, waxing • Abrasive sponges/ brushes to clean your face • Facial peel gels and creams

At the beginning of the treatment the patient experience a feeling of suction, massage and mild abrasion of epidermis. The intensity of the treatment is adjusted by regulating the air pressure which is mixed with the micro-crystalline corundum. It is possible to reach even deeper layers of the skin, such as cornfield layer or papillary layer. The skin is exfoliated and thus, the production and regeneration of collagen stimulated. The skin becomes smoother, more elastic, younger, brighter and fresher. If there are no specific indications, the treatment is performed with the use of products which do not cause congestion or excessive skin exfoliation. For sensitive skins, there are special masks used to eliminate the tingling or burning sensation and minimize the redness of the skin.

• It is recommended to avoid tanning for at least the first 48 hours (up to one week) after treatment • Patients should avoid swimming in chlorinated water (swimming pools) up to 48 hours after treatment • It is recommended to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water per day (it additionally elasticize the skin) • Patients with skin spots should use preparations containing hydroquinone (in a concentration of at least 2%); bleaching preparations should be applied 24 hours after microdermabrasion, two times a day. • It is recommended to use SPF 50+ sunscreen products • Before/after microdermabrasion there can be applied almond peel, if needed
