Zaffiro emits infrared irradiation (IR) which heats collagen fibers and shrinks them to their original length. It stimulates fibroblasts, which are responsible for the production of collagen by 30%. As a result, the skin gets thicker and its elasticity improves. The formation of collagen in the skin occurs gradually, so the final result of the treatment can be achieved 3 to 6 months after the procedure has taken place. Wrinkles appear reduced and the skin condition is improved which makes us look younger. The head of the device is made of precious sapphire glass and equipped with temperature sensors. It emits infrared irradiation (IR) cooling the treated area at the same time. When applied to the skin, it evaluates its temperature and automatically sets proper cooling temperature to protect the skin.

Zaffiro treatment is performed by a specialist (cosmetologist).Before the treatment a special gel is applied which protects the skin and helps to place device head precisely on the targeted area. Firstly, the treated skin is cooled to protect it against heat and infrared irradiation. Then, collagen in the dermis is warmed up and the top layer of the skin cooled down again. The duration of treatment depends on the treated area and lasts from 20 to 40 minutes. During the treatment patients may experience alternating sensation of cold and hot.

The first effects can be seen just after the first treatment. However, the final effects may be achieved between 3 to 6 months after treatment and they last from 1 up to 3 years, depending on skin properties. Zaffiro is also called ‘lunch treatment’ - after this procedure, patients can return to normal activities immediately. The skin may be only slightly red and patients may experience sunburn sensation. Zaffito treatment can be complemented with the use of Vitamin C serum.
